The NFL has asked the Department of Homeland Security to take down a video of Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins delivering hard hits, according to a Los Angeles Times report published Sept. 28, 2026. The league confirmed the request on Monday.
The video appeared in a DHS post about a crackdown on a migrant caravan, the Times reported. The footage showed Dawkins' punishing hits from his playing days.
Dawkins said he had not authorized the use of the video. As of Monday, the Times reported, the post and a follow-up image were still online.
The Times also reported that DHS defended its border messaging on Monday. The captured excerpt of the story ends there, so this article does not go beyond those details.
