The Los Angeles Rams are getting ready for a Week 5 Monday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills. According to TheRams.com, it will be the team's fourth primetime game in the season's first five weeks. Los Angeles is coming off a win over the Eagles, when the defense was strong all game and the offense rallied in the fourth quarter. Buffalo, led by quarterback Josh Allen, lost to the Patriots last week. It was the Bills' first loss of the season.
TheRams.com reported that head coach Sean McVay, quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Davante Adams spoke with reporters about the offense and the Buffalo game. McVay said everyone has had a hand in the offense's uneven moments, including himself, and that he could give the unit clearer direction. He said the ball was a bit slick on one play-action throw that sailed. He also defended his quarterback: "I thought (Stafford) was at his best in the most important moments. And there's nobody that I'd rather have leading us."
The Rams offense has been up and down through four games. It still found a way to beat the Eagles after a slow start. TheRams.com also pointed to a close loss to the Broncos that came down to the final play. The recap quotes a comment that Stafford "gave us every chance to find a way to kind of finish that out."
McVay also pointed to the team's penalties, calling the total "a little bit too many for my liking, without a doubt." He said the team is working on pre-snap mistakes and some judgment calls.
On Monday, McVay will coach against Joe Brady, who just turned 37 and is the NFL's youngest head coach. McVay knows what it's like to be a young head coach and praised Brady, saying he has "done a hell of a job. Very impressed with the way he handles himself."
