This recap is based on a game preview that The Hockey News published on Oct. 13. It covers the Los Angeles Kings' home matchup with the Edmonton Oilers. The source does not report the result, so this article covers only the pregame picture.
The Hockey News listed the Kings at 0-2-2 and still looking for their first win. The outlet said the club had played better in some recent games. It named defense and goaltending as the most important factors for a solid chance to win.
On the Kings' injury report, the publication listed Mats Zuccarello (undisclosed), Alex Turcotte (undisclosed) and Kevin Fiala (leg surgery) as out. It described Zuccarello as having resumed skating, though he was still week-to-week. Erik Gustafsson was a scratch.
In goal, The Hockey News said Devon Levi appeared to be the starter. It noted he was coming off a 29-save performance in the Oilers' 5-2 win over the Ducks.
The outlet also mentioned Kuemper, who was coming off a 30-save effort in a 2-1 overtime loss to Vegas. Check The Hockey News' original preview for the full details.
