Kings open two-game homestand against Oilers still seeking first win

Los Angeles hosts Edmonton on Oct. 13 at Crypto.com Arena, with goaltender Darcy Kuemper set for a third straight start and Artemi Panarin leading the team in scoring.

The Los Angeles Kings return home for a two-game homestand that starts with a game against the Edmonton Oilers at Crypto.com Arena on Oct. 13. According to NHL.com, the Kings are still looking for their first win of the 2026-27 regular season.

Goaltender Darcy Kuemper is expected to make his third consecutive start. NHL.com reports he has allowed two goals in each of his last two outings. He also made a season-high 30 saves in Saturday's overtime loss to Vegas.

That game ended 2-1, and Artemi Panarin scored the Kings' only goal. NHL.com notes that Panarin leads the team this season with three goals and four points. He has found the scoresheet in three of the four games Los Angeles has played.

Panarin also scored the lone goal the last time these teams met in Los Angeles, a 1-0 Kings win in April, per NHL.com.

Adrian Kempe has been especially productive against Edmonton. NHL.com says no player in the league has scored more goals against the Oilers over the past five years, regular season and playoffs combined. Kempe has 21 in that span, including 15 in 24 playoff games.

The series history is even. NHL.com says the Kings and Oilers have split their last 16 regular-season meetings since the 2021-22 season, with eight wins for each side. Los Angeles went 2-1-0 against Edmonton a season ago.
