The Los Angeles Chargers rookie picked off two passes in Buffalo, and the defense forced five turnovers in that game.

Los Angeles Chargers rookie Genesis Smith recorded the first two interceptions of his NFL career in Week 3, when the Chargers played in Buffalo, according to Chargers.com.

Smith's two picks were two of the five turnovers the Chargers defense forced in that game. Chargers.com said he helped lead a strong defensive effort.

Asked about the interceptions this week, Smith called them "a blessing." He added that he is "just trying to do my one-eleventh, so I can help the team out in any way possible."

Chargers.com also noted that the two interceptions came in different ways.

Smith played college football at Arizona. The team site reports that he had 14 passes defensed, five interceptions and four forced fumbles in 37 games for the Wildcats.
