The Los Angeles Kings ended their preseason on Saturday afternoon with a 6-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks at Crypto.com Arena, according to a game recap from NHL.com.
Anaheim scored first, a little over seven minutes in. The Ducks won the puck back behind the Los Angeles net, and Nikita Nesterenko got away from defenseman Cody Ceci in front to finish a pass from Tim Washe. The Kings tied it 98 seconds later. Erik Haula deflected a Ceci shot from the right point off the back boards, and Scott Laughton put in the rebound.
The Ducks went back in front with a power-play goal midway through the first period. Leo Carlsson found Beckett Sennecke at the back post for Sennecke's fourth goal of the exhibition schedule. Los Angeles tied it again in the last minute of the period. Brian Dumoulin took a pass from his defense partner, Drew Doughty, and moved it to Adrian Kempe in the slot for Kempe's first goal of the preseason.
The Kings took their first lead midway through the second period on a power-play passing play. Quinton Byfield kept the puck in at the blue line and sent it low to Artemi Panarin. Panarin traded passes with Kempe, then set up Mats Zuccarello for a 3-2 lead.
Alex Turcotte scored twice in the third period. His first goal was a deflection of a Doughty shot from the point that got past Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal. Turcotte then forced a turnover in the neutral zone and finished a Zuccarello pass off the rush, beating Dostal high to make it 5-2.
The NHL.com recap does not describe the Kings' last goal in the 6-2 preseason finale.
