The Anaheim Ducks turned in their initial roster for the 2026-27 NHL season, The Hockey News reported on Sept. 29. Teams had to submit cap-compliant rosters by 2 pm PST on Sept. 28, the eve of the season, and Anaheim's list has 16 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Two players were placed on injury lists. Forward Troy Terry, dealing with a hip injury, went on Injured Non-Roster and is expected to miss the first two to three months of the season. Defenseman Ian Moore, with a lower-body injury, went on Injured Reserve. According to The Hockey News, he is 11 days into an estimated recovery of two to four weeks.
The Ducks also made moves in goal and on defense. The day before rosters were due, they placed defenseman Travis Mitchell and goaltender Laurent Brossoit on waivers so they could be reassigned to the San Diego Gulls of the AHL. Both cleared waivers on Monday and were assigned, per the report.
Forward AJ Greer, newly acquired by Anaheim, is among the unavailable players. The Hockey News says he skated only on the first day of training camp before an upper-body injury. He took part in the first portion of Monday's practice wearing a red non-contact jersey. Drew Helleson has not played or practiced since leaving the team's preseason opener.
With Terry, Moore, Greer and Helleson out for now, the report counts 14 healthy forwards and five healthy defensemen on the submitted roster. The Hockey News describes it as a season-opening roster rather than an opening-night roster, and says the depth chart could change before the Ducks begin their season Friday in Las Vegas, a rematch of their second-round playoff series.
