Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Poehling is expected to be out six to eight weeks with a sprained MCL, according to a report from NHL.com dated Oct. 13, 2026.
NHL.com reports that the injury happened on a Saturday night in Calgary. Poehling scored a shorthanded goal 5:35 into the third period, which put Anaheim back in front by a goal, and then left the game right away.
According to NHL.com, Flames defenseman Zayne Parekh tripped Poehling as he slid, and the forward collided with the right post. The Ducks went on to beat the Flames 4-2.
The 27-year-old has a goal and an assist in five games so far in 2026-27, per the report. Last season he had 11 goals and 25 assists in 75 games, plus four goals in the playoffs.
NHL.com also notes that Poehling missed the final game of the Second Round series against Vegas because of a concussion. The Ducks acquired him by trade on June 23, 2025.
He signed a four-year contract with Anaheim on March 5, 2026, the publisher says. The source gives no return date beyond the six-to-eight-week estimate.
