Dodgers drop NLDS Game 2 to Braves 3-2 as series heads to Atlanta tied

Early stranded runners, a short start from Blake Snell and costly defensive and pitching mistakes let Atlanta even the series at Dodger Stadium.

The Los Angeles Dodgers missed a chance to take command of the National League Division Series, losing Game 2 to the Atlanta Braves 3-2 at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Times reported. The loss evens the series and gives up the home-field edge the Dodgers had held.

The Times said the Dodgers' trouble started early. They left runners on base in the first few innings and couldn't build a cushion behind starter Blake Snell, who gave the club only four innings.

Atlanta took another lead after a misplayed triple and a wild pitch. According to the Times, Michael Harris II should never have been 90 feet from scoring the go-ahead run.

Max Muncy homered in the ninth inning, but that was the Dodgers' only real threat late in the game.

The series now moves to Atlanta, where Chris Sale is scheduled to start Game 3.
