Dodgers back Shohei Ohtani to snap out of his slump before NLCS opener against Brewers

After going 2-for-13 in the NLDS, Ohtani took batting practice at American Family Field as Los Angeles got ready for Game 1 against Milwaukee and ace Jacob Misiorowski.

Shohei Ohtani got in a Saturday workout at American Family Field as the Los Angeles Dodgers got ready for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Ohtani is trying to find his swing again after going 2-for-13 at the plate in the National League Division Series. He took batting practice before the Dodgers' NLCS opener.

According to the Times, manager Dave Roberts still believes Ohtani can break out of his slump. The matchup won't be easy, though. The Times noted that Ohtani faces a tough test against Jacob Misiorowski, whom it called the Brewers' ace.

The Times' account of the session describes one ball driven into the second deck in right-center field. Another landed closer to the huge video board above American Family Field, which carried a large "2026 NLCS" logo.

Hitting coach Aaron Bates sounded pleased with the work. "Good day of work for him," Bates said, according to the Times.
