Chargers' Rashawn Slater has a high ankle sprain and could go on injured reserve

Jim Harbaugh gave updates on several Chargers injuries, including left tackle Rashawn Slater, Trevor Penning and Donte Jackson.

Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater has a high ankle sprain and could be moved to injured reserve, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Coach Jim Harbaugh described Slater as a candidate for IR, the Times reported. If Slater goes on IR, the Chargers would need to fill a key spot on their offensive line.

He isn't the only lineman who's hurt. The Times reported that offensive lineman Trevor Penning is in the concussion protocol. The paper also said the team's right tackle is still being evaluated for a neck injury but is less likely to land on IR.

The secondary has injury questions too. Cornerback Donte Jackson has a hamstring injury and is week-to-week, according to the report.

The Times article included a photo of Slater on the field before the Chargers lost to the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 27.
